The ten-minute check before you go live.

Catch the silent mic, private browser tab, and loud notification while nobody is watching.

Check the stream destination

Open the correct account and confirm the title, audience setting, and destination. If the software offers a preview or test recording, use it. Check whether scheduled broadcasts and instant broadcasts behave differently. Close email, account dashboards, and any documents that should not appear in a screen share.

Make a real audio test

Speak at your normal volume while watching the input meter. Record twenty seconds that includes speech, silence, and the game or guest audio you intend to use. Play it back. A moving meter proves there is an input; it does not prove viewers can understand the mix. Avoid sending the same microphone through two active sources.

Look at the whole frame

Check camera height, focus, lighting, and the background. Read any text on a shared screen at the size the viewer will see. A spreadsheet that looks fine on your monitor may become unreadable after the platform resizes it. Turn off notification banners and sounds using your device’s normal controls.

Prepare the first and last minute

Write your opening sentence and the first question. Keep water and the session outline nearby. Know where the mute and end-stream controls are. At the end, confirm the broadcast has stopped on the platform itself before assuming your camera and microphone are off.
